A GlobeSt. Women of Influence Award recipient, Pamela Yang is a qualified financial expert and has chaired the Audit Committee on non-profit boards. She is a thought leader with three decades of experience in the financial services industry. Pamela managed portfolios in both traditional and alternative asset classes with in-depth experience in investment, audit, compliance, human capital, information technology, strategic planning, succession, and corporate governance.

Pamela is the Chief Financial Officer of Social Finance, a national non-profit organization and registered investment advisor. She plays a critical role in shaping the firm’s financial strategy and ensuring alignment with its mission and goals. Before Social Finance, Pamela served as Chief Operating Officer of The Bulfinch Companies, a commercial real estate firm founded in 1936, where she was the driving force behind building a cohesive financial reporting team, asset management team, compliance function, and a robust human resources team. Pamela founded the firm’s Sustainability Committee and led the firm to win numerous prestigious awards. Prior to Bulfinch, Pamela served as Managing Director, Head of the Charitable Asset Management group at State Street Global Advisors, where she was responsible for overseeing and growing investment assets for non-profit clients. Pamela was actively involved in the SSGA Foundation and Gender Diversity ETF and was a frequent public speaker.

Pamela spent eighteen years at Harvard Management Company, leading the Trusts and Gifts group as SVP, Head of Trust Investment and Operations. She played a critical role in introducing the tax-efficient investment strategies and was the project lead when Harvard obtained the nation’s first Private Letter Ruling allowing the charitable assets to be commingled with endowment. During her tenure, the group under her leadership successfully doubled the size of charitable assets and established the firm’s first internal control function.

Pamela currently serves as an independent trustee of iMGP Funds Trust and chairs the Audit and Finance Committee of the CFA Institute’s Board of Governors. She previously chaired the board of the Boston Securities Analysts Society and is a long-time trustee of Boston Ballet. Pamela did PhD Studies in French Literature at New York University and speaks fluent French, English and Chinese. She is an avid reader and a daily distance swimmer.
